Click here to contact us at C Solutions so we can start the process of converting your VB6 programs to VB.NET.

Visual Studio Professional 2002 Edition

Microsoft's "It Just Works" Policy with VB6 on Vista and Windows 7

Microsoft is not looking to make things any better for VB6 programs. Their official policy, for Vista and Windows 7 is "It Just Works", from their website - "The Visual Basic team is committed to “It Just Works” compatibility for Visual Basic 6.0 applications on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 including R2, and Windows 7.". I don't know about you, but, I would like to run my business with a system which has stronger backing for it than "It Just Works".

In fact, Microsoft publicly says it does not officially plan to even support VB6 after Windows 7. Specifically, from Microsoft's website, "However there are no plans to include VB6 runtime in future versions of Windows beyond Windows 7.". So, you may plan on getting many more years out of those old VB6 programs, time clearly is not on your side.

Convert to VB.NET to get Microsoft's help and backing with the latest technologies with .NET. Doesn't your Irving business deserve the best that's available for the applications your company runs on? Contact us so we can help give your old programs a new lease on life.

VB.NET Is Superior To VB6

VB.NET is much better than VB6, in a number of ways, including:

* VB.NET is made for network operations, such as connecting to databases, websites, etc. In fact, that's where the '.NET' come from in the name VB.NET - network handling in implied and even part of the name.

* VB.NET provides faster programs than VB6. VB.NET is made with compiled code. This results in faster running programs than VB6's pcode, which runs through an interpreter. Basically, similarly written programs will run faster in VB.NET than VB6.

* VB.NET has a better developer interface. VB.NET's developer interface is much better than that in VB6. This results in improved programmer productivity and lower costs for you to maintain, fix, and enhance, your programs.

* VB.NET has more developers available for it than there are available for VB6. A long time ago, there were many more VB6 developers than VB.NET developers. Now, that's reversed. There's many more VB.NET developers than VB6 developers. The longer you wait to convert your programs the harder time you will have finding developers who know, and have experience with, VB6. Save yourIrving business time and money and get those conversions started today.

VB.NET Offers an Upgrade Path To The Future, Unlike VB6's Path to Nowhere

VB.NET is built using Microsoft's latest programming environment, .NET. It has all the latest technologies available in this system, whereas VB6 has been forgotten, when it comes to the latest technology, for years. Customers in Irving, and in the surrounding areas of Grand Prairie, Euless and Farmers Branch deserve the best your company can offer, and, your employees deserve the most effective business tools to work with, right? VB.NET can provide a much stronger system than the old, VB6 system can provide.

VB.NET allows you to connect your applications to the latest version of Microsoft's database system of SQL Server.

VB.NET is made to handle XML data, as well as a greatly increased Object Oriented programming system over what was available in VB6. This allows cleaner, more reusable code to be written in VB.NET, than in VB6.

Contact us today to start the process to convert your VB6 programs to VB.NET. It can be one of the best choices you've done for your Irving business as you can take all the hard work put into the original programs and transition it into a system made to last for years to come, all while greatly increasing the program's available things it can do, and, it's overall speed.
